Hey guys, my name is Jake and I am from central Illinois. This weekend i traded in my beloved 2010 wrx for something with cheap insurance and the ability to go off road. So i picked up an 06 trailblazer, that so far i am loving. I had a lifted 2004 jeep grand Cherokee overland, over the winter and unfortunately totaled it sliding on my ice on the highway :pale: So im not too new to the lifted SUV scene, but still have alot to learn from you guys!

Anyways, cant wait to search around on the forums and learn some stuff! first up is trying to find some leather interior and panels that are broken(stupid center console arm rest) :hissyfit: But in the next few weeks i would like to tint the front windows to match the factory tint, and then start on some kind of budget boost, cant decide on 2 or 3 inches? what is best for oem shocks and struts for now?

Cant wait to hear from some of you guys and learn from all your experience!

thanks,
Jake

Welcome

You'll find a lot of your answers will be found in the intro thread you were directed to when you signed up, the stickies also outline the setups we commonly use.

For shocks up front you'll see the most common are the BilsteinHDs and the radflo coilovers, for the rear it seems like it's a matter of budget and preference... there's a good number of options from skyjacker to BDS to Fox/BDS... and there's even one member that tossed a coilover on the rear.

MarkMc(theliftmeister.com) has 2 lifts for <$200 and Rough Country(RC) also has a 2" level kit under $200. I expect you would be satisfied with any of them.
If you are doing a pure budget lift to keep your stock shocks then the RC lift might work best for you because with only a 3/4" rear spacer you can keep your stock rear shocks.

I will say that it is cheaper to save and do it right the first time than to buy parts and swap them in and out so figure out your mission first and then prioritize your wish list. Keep in mind depending on where you wheel many times a skid plate might be a better investment than a lift.

There are plenty of articles and stickies, a lot of information read and learn to help you make the best choices the first time.
