Hello from eastern NC!!

Good evening! Im Tucker and I just bought my parents' TB. Well, it was more of a trade off. We decided to swap vehicles (their TB for my 2001 ford focus zx3 sport). I loved my focus but never felt comfortable enough in it. After putting about $1300 in the front end (New ACT clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, upper&lower ball joints, sway bar end links, etc.) and lubricated with royal purple, she ran like a dream! However, all dreams must come to an end. I decided to call it quits when the car started to nickel and dime me at 118,000 miles and my mom LOVED the car and I wanted an SUV (actually a diesel but college students can't afford that stuff, not me at least). So, with 178,000 miles on it, I traded my car for hers particularly for the 4wd. After searching the interwebs, I found some NICE looking trailblazers and a lot of them were members of this site.
As I mentioned before, I wanted a 4wd suv or truck of some sort. As some of you may know, North Carolina has gotten record snow this year so I got a chance to test out the 4wd! :excited:

However, thats when the trouble began... But with 178000 miles, what do you expect? :wallbash:

With the help of this site, I determined that the 4wd disconnect was bad (need to replace). Then, with there being so many miles on it, I am pretty sure a transmission rebuild is in my near future as well (going to replace: frictions with Borg Warner's, steels, bushings, shift valves, and add a shift kit). Next, I discover that the rear wheel bearings need to be replaced (already got those parts and have looked up the how to guide on here). Where does it end?? This doesn't even include all the mods I want to do to it! Thankfully, there is a pick and pull near where I live that has a few GMT platforms in there!
Anyways, end of story: I have a 2006 trailblazer with 3.46 gears, a G80 (that I just found out I had and probably needs to be replaced), 179XXX miles, Bone.Stock.
The Plans:
3in of suspension lift, 2in of body lift, 33in tires, black steel wheels, flipped uca's, new rear end/gearing, REPAIRS, shift kit, tranny rebuild, new rear springs, shocks all the way around, new PCM, and a few other mods here and there. Hopefully I can post pictures of the build as everyone else has! I look forward to the help I can give and receive and the people I'll meet up here! I look forward to meeting everyone! :flex dirty:

Thanks guys! I've noticed a few people are from the Raleigh/Durham area and James is from Roanoke VA. I look forward to maybe meeting everyone in NC (if it's possible).

Welcome, good to see you've put some of the information gathered here to use. Keep on the repairs and servicing to get it dependable, then enjoy the fruits as you lift and get to play with a vehicle you know will get you there and back.

Welcome! I'm in Sanford just about the center of the state. I spent a couple fun nights in Greenville some years ago when a friend was going to ECU.

TECORE X would be a great way to meet a lot of members but you'll need to get movin' on the rebuild cause it's in 6 weeks!

American Adventurist will be having a event in Uwharrie in October, I think it's the 24th-26th. Not TB only but a good group of people, A good number of SEES(SouthEast Expedition Society) members will be there too.

Nc_islandrunner, sadly I can't really rush any of this! Being a broke college student, it's just gonna take some time. But I plan on keeping the TB for a while so there will definitely be more opportunities!

No one said you had to be lifted and drive in it you could just be a passenger , I am sure some one would let you ride. I was rider last fall thanks to V7guy (Jason), Nc_islandrunner (Rory) and dvanbramer88 Dave.
