thanks!!

Sped a little time on TrailVoy.com getting to know your truck. Visit the suspension and offroad forums there. When you make the informed decision to commit to an offroad vehicle (with all the financial outlay that entails) then we'll be here waiting.

Some research before posting questions is expected, but no one has to be an expert to be here.

First things first then, if you've got the money burning a hole in your pocket, get it out and put it in a saving account or something until you have parts budgeted out. Otherwise, you'll have it spent before you have everything worked out.

Second, get your rear to the introduction forum and start there. Once you've completed that, READ everything. Find folks who's builds look similar to what you want to do with your vehicle. Then READ some more so that you can ask intelligent, informed questions.

Third, once you have a solid idea of where you want to go with your vehicle, have a plan on what parts you want to go with, then dig out the needed funds out of the savings account and gather up your goodies.

Fourth, READ again, you'll no doubt miss things, learn something new from some of the older posts and flat out keep yourself informed of what might be a good idea for later if what you have at this point does not work for you.

Please remember, we're all about having fun with your vehicle, even if it's stock. Just not at the expense of having to spoon feed someone the information or having them cut corners in safety.

You'll find a much warmer reception if you follow even half of these guidelines

What is this "shop" of which you speak?

Shops mock our platform. Most lift manufacturers ignore us. That breeds a LOT of DIY design and wrenching activity.

It also makes sure that you can fix your own junk when it breaks 50 miles from pavement. Self-sufficiency enhances safety. And we're all about safety.

That said, $10K is a good cushion to have if you only put half of it in the vehicle now, and half for covering breakages and your next rev upgrade after you even see if you like wheeling it. Some folks try it and decide it's not a hobby they want to continue in.

Aside from your shift key being broken, concentrate on your standard maintenance first. Get the truck running well and not losse [sic], then look into a lift. The def [sic] and the trans all depend on how you treat your truck. If you flog it, they will fail. The last thing you should concider [sic] is recovery gear. I personally think you should get the basics there before getting into the lift.

Oh, and spend a little more time on your posts before pressing submit. Read over them a few times to make sure they are fully legible and so you can catch the easy spelling errors.
