I have owned this vehicle since 2012. It's a 2006 SWB Trailblazer i6. At the time, my 2nd child was on the way and I needed more room for a growing family. I refused to get the minivan my wife wanted to get. This basically was intended to be a minivan, to haul kids and groceries. I never had any interests in off-roading.
Thanks to some episodes of Dirt Every Day I began to get more interested in off-roading. I wanted a Jeep and scoffed at the thought of using the Trailblazer in this manner, especially after some research showed a 2.5 inch lift was about all that was available. Over time the idea started to grow on me. The Trailblazer is paid off now. Then I discovered Expedition Overland on YouTube. If you haven't seen it, it's really worth checking out.
This is going to be my Overland vehicle. I am ordering the 3 inch lift and wheel spacers as soon as MarkMC emails me back. I plan on running 265/75/16 (31.6 inches) M/T as a good balance of fuel economy, off-road performance, and road manners. I will be slapping a roof top tent up top too, and will be building the vehicle continuing with the Overlanding theme. I have a trip planned in October from here to Florida going through the Blue Ridge Mountains and any trails I can find on the way. Thanks to JD's TECORE videos GWNF will be on that list.
My username? I used to always refer to the vehicle as 'The Truck' as opposed to 'The Car', which would have been our Honda at the time. My family ridiculed me over this.
