When i took the bumper cover off to repaint the rusty metal bumper
Hi guys. Been researching and reading on here and on trailvoy since i bought my tb back in 2012. Been a crazy ride and definitely taken this thing where no open dif 2wd should ever go. Done all the regular maintenance these past 3 years, bought it at 114k and it sits at 173k right now and always climbing. Its an 06 4.2 ls extended. 4x4 has never worked and i think ive gotten it down to the disconnect, just havent learned enough yet to tear into it. Most recently got ambitious and installed the z71 springs in the back(87 or 88s i think) and kinda screwed my weak old front suspension haha. Hopefully i can keep truckin along and remember to take pictures as i go along.(and find better places to take pictures lol)

read some more and be more specific in mods and we can help you out. we need to know specific parts. Diagnosing the 4wd system is pretty straight forward, follow the chart on here and it should pinpoint your issue.

Well, as of right now im saving for marks 3" suspension lift and adapters to regular 6 lug rims. Recently heard the 3" body lift was discontinued :( any suggestions for runners up or anything i should know before worrying about a body lift? Im thinking brake lines steering any sensors etc that may be effected?

If you're not confident in rebuilding your disco, this is a less expensive option than most complete disconnect units.

Everything is a trade off. Has anyone tried to stuff those internals into a OEM inner case yet?
