After 195,000 miles of service the wife finally wanted a new ride. So I now have the 2002 4x4 LTZ to do with as I will. I will be driving it back and forth to work (90 miles round trip) so mods must be towards that purpose. I have done most of the work to the TB myself in the past, so I know a few things. Always room to learn more. Next few weeks I will be lifting it and replacing most of the from suspension that is worn. Thanks in Advance! Jim
Good times! Driving that much, I can tell you that my mileage didn't drop hardly at all when I went from stock tires to 245/70-17 BFG AT, load range E. It dropped 2-3mpg on the highway when I went from that setup to spacers and 265/70-17 BFG AT.
I believe my biggest drop in mpg was putting the tire on the roof. With 32s and even with 33s I didn't see much of a drop at all. I wouldn't worry too terribly much about it.
Thanks for the info. I figured gas mileage will not change that drastically. Need to know how high of a lift for daily drivability? Will a 3 inch have me changing CV joints ever 10k? Should I use a 2 1/2 inch?

I've had my 3" lift on for about 8 months and maybe 15k and everything related has been fine. I don't even notice the lift unless I'm looking at another TB.
I have a 3" lift and I change my CV axles once per year, at about 15K miles, but many of my miles are off-road. If you're doing road driving, I think you're fine. And really, the axles are $50 each and take half an hour to replace once you do it once or twice. That's not a big deal (for me).
I didn't experience a big fuel economy dip with my lift. I experienced a big dip once a put a roof basket on top.
