Hello all. I am new on the site, but not to wheeling. I have joined to find some technical information on my TBZ build, and to share my build as I go. I have built many off road rigs, from mild to wild. My current rig is a 1998 GMC Jimmy, of sorts. It has a 383 stroker, THM400 backed by an NP241. Ford F250 high pinion D44 front housing with GM 8 lug outers, and RCV axle shafts. A Corporate 14 bolt full float out back, with a Detroit locker and disc conversion. I am running 52" leafs front and rear, and pull a 758 on the RTI. If that matters to anyone lol. Its a flexy rig for leaf springs, basically. I am running H1 12 bolt double bead lock wheels, with rock rings, re centered with Trail Worthy Fab centers, and their PVC inserts, all wrapped with 39.5x13.5x16.5 Super Swamper Irok bias tires. I run a SmittyBilt 12k winch, with Plasma synthetic line, and a Warn wireless controller. There is a lot more, too much to list, I have done all the work myself. Anyways, look for my build, if you are interested in my next off road iteration. I will post a pic of my new to me Trailblazer, then pics of my Jimmy for reference.

Glad to have ya! I like your Jimmy (of sorts) lol You're build of that reminds of of what Steve (ChevyCrew) did with his Trailblazer. Nice pics man! That shot of you coming out of a deep mud hole is awesome.

Thanks guys! The Jimmy is a very capable rig. But, Id like to go for a more refined finish product on this go. EFI, factory wiring that isn't hacked up (the Jimmy had serious wiring issues when I got it, and still does), and a more comfortable interior for longer trips. I drive that Jimmy on the street too. So, that is another must have ability. I can do 80 on the freeway in the Jimmy no problem. But, it is hot, loud, and the electrical stuff is a nightmare. I have the motor and all accessories on their own wiring. But everything inside that is factory is a mess. Sucks. But its what I had to work with.

I am now the second owner of the TBZ. Which is perfect. No mess to fix. Ill be using my axles, wheels, tires, and possibly suspension (though, I am almost certain I will be linking it). And, of course, all my accessories.

Right now, Im trying to figure out what to do with the T case. It is an NP266. I know they are basically made of glass. lol. I would absolutely love to be able to retain my factory t-case shift knob. But, I also know that is probably not going to happen...

It sounds like you have a good grip on what you have and what you want. My only suggestions would be a double Tcase and to spend some time looking at the build threads of Chevycrew and DirtyAnton. Both are Awesome rigs.
