trailburner's 2005 Trailblazer LS build

As it appears now, a month after i bought it. it just turned 101,000 miles.
Update at 116,000 miles: rt rear hatch trim and drivers door experienced some minor trail damage.

2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS

U 805K Dark Gray Metalic

Drivetrain:
-stock
-LL8 4.2 I-6
-automatic trans
-selectable 4x4
-GU6 3.42 non locking differentials

Suspension modifications:
-3" Liftmeister lift. Bilstein struts up front. Rancho 5000 rear shocks.
-replaced upper and lower balljoints
-replaced stabilizer links front and rear
-"Mall ready" ....although rated for it, I never go to the mall.

Exterior modifications:
-removed plastic door guards (falling off)

Engine:
-cold air intake with k&n filter
-current codes needing addressed:po410, po495, po526
-replaced entire fuel pump sending unit assembly

Exhaust modifications:
-3" center in/out flowmaster delta 40 series
-Custom 3" exhaust resized to fit 2 3/4" stock blazer pipe with stock exhaust exit location
-5" stainless tip

Interior modifications:
-Bible in the glove box
-heavy duty rubber floor mats

Recovery/Emergancy equipment: I keep a few essentials in the blazer but I have two large wheeled camping gear bags with survival/camping/bug out/emergency equipment packed in them. I use the bags to make switching back and forth from the blazer to my Z71 Silverado a lot easier.

Tires/wheels:
-LT245-75-16 Mastercraft courser axt
-stock aluminum 16x7 wheels (plastidip soon???)


Electrical modifications:
-jvc stereo
-1000 amp duralast gold battery (battery box & rusted bracket DELETE!)
-dealer installed rust inhibiters (junk)

ABS disabled (turned psycho so I pulled the fuse)

I found a muffler for my tb!
One i already had but forgot about..... tucked away under a bunch of truck parts in one of my sheds.
it's a 40 series flowmaster, not the original loud rumbley model. it's a delta 40 series. about 10 years old.
Installed August of 2013. Sounds very healthy.


here's what this one looks like inside aside from mine being center in/out.

peeled off the door moldings because they were comin' unglued. looks cleaner. i cleaned off the glue with acetone, then waxed it with turtle wax ice. (synthetic liquid polish)


i also used acetone to remove the glue strip left behind from the all to common lost bowtie center. i think it looks good, maybe even better than original. deffinately better than the nasty glue strip that plagues every trailblazer i've ever seen.

I've been away from the forum for quite a while but I have done a little work on my blazer.
New exhaust.
New tires.
Cold air intake with k&n filter.
3" Liftmeister lift.
New suspension parts.
