I saw something on the new jeeps about something similar where when it senses wheel slip it applies breaking to the spinning wheel so the other wheel will turn. I think this was with an open diff.

Lockrites are pretty noisy.

Go with the No-Slip (same company) for the rear. The No-Slip in my TB quieter than the Detroit in my Yota.
