see what happens when we willing give all the info in one thread. We get crickets. I shoulda just started the ridicule for not searching. At least that would of been entertaining.

Then we could have totally derailed the thread with pics and videos!

I seem to recall something about a winch and reverse or something of that nature.

Sorry guys, I dont get on here as much I'd like. Between work, trying to run my own business and work on vehicles on the side... dont have much free time.
I did in fact search before I asked, just sounded to good to be true. Every vehicle I've ever built in the past seemed to require a ton of additional work, mods and parts to swap things out for something better.

But it is funny that buying a open diff axle was mentioned. Shortly after I posted this, I found a 8.6 3.42 open diff axle for $70 and had the same thought. For roughly $50 more I could have a rebuilt axle with a actual locker.

So my current plan after reading about the lockers for several hours, 8.6 with a powertrax and start saving for a front locker

what keeps us from swapping the abs systems from the early axles onto the newer ones to make them backwards compatible?

I haven't been able to find anything stating it can't be done, but I haven't seen it proposed either.

hoping someone that has had them both in hand can provide guidance

Nothing. Just cut off/tie up the extra plugs. Speed sensor on early models is on the back of the T-Case.
