Pillar light mounts

Does anyone have pillar lights mounted above the mirrors like jeeps? I'm thinking of getting some pods but i cant seem to find any way to mount them there.

Somebody made some prototypes, a couple weeks ago, I think. I think it's the same guy who makes the windshield light bar mounts. Let me see if I can dig up the guy's name on the FB page and have him post them here...

I'm the guy that made the prototypes, and yep I also make the lightbar brackets as well as a few other products such as fog light pod brackets. The pillar brackets still need a little more testing done, but they will be for sale soon. I've made a few sets already and am having a couple people test them to see how everything works out. I'm one of the ones test the pillar brackets, I'm still waiting on my pods for them to come in. From what I can tell so far, (I do have them mounted already) but they're solid and very well built. Once the pods come in I'll see what they'll hold up too, I'll be sure to keep everyone interested in these updated on them when I get more usage on them.

As of right now they mount with 3 self tapping screws but I'm not sure if the design will change on that. Alot still needs to be put to the test, one other guy is testing them as well. I know some were not fans of the self tapping screws but I've zero issues with the light bar mounts so far.

I want a set! Where do they screw in? Behind the ruber seal? Why not use double sided tape like the rain gaurds have? Those things stick on and never come off.

With the weight of the brackets plus the pods double sided tape would not hold over time. Those rain guards don't weight nearly as much as the brackets with pods. And the do right behind the rubber seal. There is holes that have drilled so you can clip them back into place once the brackets are installed

I personally see no problem using self taping screws. Also as long as you don't strip them out, they should hold up fine and seal, keeping out leaks. If leaks worry you then just use a little silicone or something. I Have had zero problems with my lightbar brackets too, even at 70+ mph. Holds up just fine and no leaks yet. *knock on wood*

You should definitely use silicone around the screws during install regardless. But with 3 screws and the tabs for the weather stripping so far they've had zero issues. The weather stripping helps to an extent with water resistance as well.

I put my silicone under the washer part of the 5/16 self tapping screw. Haven't seen any rust or anything around the screw. I didn't touch the weather stripping though. Seems to fit and seal just fine without cutting or messing with it. But I do notice that Ya gotta make your the door is shut lol... Don't feel any air coming through at highway speed, so seems ight. Might do it anyways though.

Because a rain guard isn't sitting out in the 80 mph wind face on as aerodynamic as a barn door lol.

I'd like to see a set of lights installed, I'm not crazy about my LED bar on the bumper, but it beat's having it on the roof.

A rivnut would likely work really well in that area and you'd never have to worry about it stripping. As a benefit the tool is about $20 at harbor freight so it's easily affordable.

Yeah, enquiring minds want to know... Do they stick out further than the mirror's? Because I slap those on trees all the time.

I got the lights mounted today, I'm out and about around town now. So far visibility isn't an issue for me. The pods actually don't stick out past the fender, there in line with them and more over the cowl area.

Mikejr did a great job on these. So far I like them as well, big thing I know he worked on was keeping it out of the way of visibility. As soon as it gets dark out I'll be adjusting me beams for them. BTW I'm running 3x3 Rally brand pods on the brackets.
