DIY: Offroad Roof Light Bar

I picked up a set from this guy. He's cheap, fast and combines shipping. He usually throws in some extra bulbs as well.

Finally got around to finishing and taking pics of my bar.

Switch location, I will be redoing the bracket with better bends and having a longer bracket to allow more switches as well as it being painted.

As some of you may know, I was having a hard time with the last light bar. It was so frickin loud! So I built this one and did a way better job installing it.

I drilled through the roof...that was alittle scary but had to be done. So hope you like the pics!

Thanks James. Couldn't have built it without you! I really don't plan on taking it off anytime soon. I will be putting connectors on this weekend just in case I need to take it off. There is NO noise at all. Not sure what I did with the last one that made it so noisey...

Really nice, dude. I like what you did with the drilling; I have loose/visible wires - you certainly made it so there are none!

I cant tell from the pictures - but with that set up, would you be able to mount two more lights - kind of off at a 45 degree angle? How about a 90 degree angle - kind of like alleyway lighting?

Just curious - I am thinking about taking this on in the near future.

Very nice job. Just curious why you went with 4 lights versus 5 to fill the space? Ive been debating the same thing is why I ask. Was just thinking 5 would "fit" the truck width better. Was there a reason for just 4?

Guessing because they come in packs of 2. When I had a bar, and most others on here, rock bars with just 4 lights...

Ah. I didnt mean any disrespect with the question, this is 1 of the nicest light bars ive seen made, was just curious. Didnt think about the lights in pairs as all the ones ive been looking at are singles. Im thinking about going with 5 to fill the width a bit more, but will have to look at it closer. since my shoulder surgery is tuesday it will be awhile before I get to tinker again anyway.

Hey sorry guys, I was out quading all day. Thanks for the compliments! I went witth 4 lights because they came in packs of 2. Five would look great on the TB though. All I can say about it is...drill through the roof. It makes the install feel complete, and looks good to.

I think the number of lights really depends on spacing used and width of lights.
