It still needs to be cleaned up and painted, along with the SG mount and cell phone mount. But it works pretty well. I'm uploading a video to YouTube as we speak, will update this thread once its uploaded.

air freshener type is common but I find they don't really work that good and can be a pain to remove sometimes if you buy the tight ones.

They work for a short period of time... these have been in for way too long. I've just not taken them out yet. They are not difficult to remove, though.

1/8" x 1" aluminum bar... bolted down the same spot where the vents are secured to. I reinforced that point with more 1/8"x1" bar. Some of the hold comes from the pressure the bar puts on the dash and vent covers themselves. Adding the folded towel under the lense creates more pressure, holding the entire unit more securely.

Haha... my training ground spot is hardly a secret. Its too small to spend too much time in anyways. There are better spots near by that you can spend all day in.

The dash panel has to come out in order to take out the center vents. There are 2 bolts holding the vents in place that are only accessible with the radio out. If you can take out the radio, you can see the 2 bolts, I want to say they are a 6mm?

I'm currently working on something similar for my cell phone holder, and I'm curious how you mounted yours right there.
Actually now that I look again I think I have the same one, think I grabbed it from pep boys.
Did you just stick it to the dash? Double-sided tape or such?
