Went home to pick up the trailblazer and decided to go shooting.

Not too bad @125, however it was surprising to see that the Tula ammo (upper group) actually shot hotter than the Hornady loads.

The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.

You guys are a terrible influence on me.
Image
Found a new place to fish, DOD ponds in South Jersey.
Driving around exploring, when this guy comes running towards me, asking if I can help pull out his wrangler in the mud.

I obliged. This poor/stupid guy went out with nothing. Stock JK sport, no straps, no winch, alone, nothing.

After digging him out (with my shovel), using a jack to lift him up (my jack), putting some boards down under his tires (my boards), I was able to pull him out with a strap (my strap).

And then, got myself stuck trying to get out of the trail he was in. I was up on the edges of the ruts, which collapsed, and I slid into the ruts. Front and rear axles were perched up on the mud. Tires spinning. No locker. F.
He ended up reversing through the way we got in and getting me out. I suppose the biologists would call this a symbiotic extraction.
Unfortunately, as I have no front recovery points, I ended up using my brushguard. I know, and knew at the time, it was a bad idea. Radiator is fine, brushguard is not!

Back on the trail.

I hope he learned something, I certainly did.

I least someone was prepared. And I agree, I hope he learned a big lesson. And at least you got some good recovery experience at his expense.

And since you were decently prepared, maybe we're not that terrible of an influence after all.

That looks like a good time Casey. And hey, you have to get stuck a few times to know your rig better and better. glad you had what you needed to get out, and were able to help someone on the way.

If I could turn back time... I might not have gotten the EXT as my first 4WD. But overall, it gets around OK now that it's lifted, locked, and luggy.

The guys that play around at our local lake bottoms are pretty complimentary of its looks too.

I wouldn't get too caught up in it, even the solid axle guys have kicked the front and rear axles out further than stock by a good bit. You'll also notice, if you read a good bit, that the guys on 35s have kicked the rear axle back a few inches. In the grand scheme of things the ext is probably not a huge deal.

Keep improving the breed!

Did you have your sway bars hooked up? The suspension looks pretty tight in the video.

Nice video by the way!

I took my rear sway off a couple weeks ago after reading a few posts on the subject. Figured anything I could do to keep either of the fronts from picking up would be good change, because they pretty much are where they are since the lift. Seems like it helps a good bit.

I love that rack setup, it's so utilitarian looking.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Thanks. Basket looked more "expo" and the wife liked it better, but this just works for my needs and is more fuel efficient with the lower profile. Easy to attach to as well. I think of removing it to test mpg change, but I end up tossing something up there so often I know I would miss it. I would like to add an awning set-up to it for the kids in the spring.

Its the one I made from an aluminum atv ramp. Can be copied sans lights for under 100 probably.

Decided to fix the leaky CV boot issue I was having and since it was nice I detailed the truck for the last time this year, needed it after I got stuck last night helping a buddy do some stuff in the woods on his property. I also installed a bull bar (I know blasphemy), I do plan on making brackets that will go to the holes for the front hitch so it will be strong. This will also allow me to raise the bar up when I install the body lift. I am waiting on my lights to come in so I can install them.

Looks sharp man. I am partial to those headlamps. Wish mine still looked that clean. I filled them with muddy water.
