A couple (bad) pics of my frame welds... I made two passes on each one. I need more practice on my off-angle welding. Some got a little boogery.

Jacked both sides up by the sliders and measured before and after distance from body. I have no measurable deflection. I almost got out the calipers just to see, but thought that was a bit much. It was also dark by the time I was done.

Haha, I didn't mean to come across as a power tool snob. And yeah, if you're cutting steel with that sucker, its holding up pretty well. Did you use an abrasive blade?

Just messing with ya... I know where you work hehe.

I used a 10" cutoff wheel, which after my bumper and the sliders is now a 5" cutoff wheel...

I'm glad your saw didn't catch fire then. Those abrasive blades don't mix well with the plastic guards!

The guard has held up OK.... I did catch the catch bag on fire though.

Some randomness from a place called Shenks Ferry. Its a wildflower preserve that has trails to get back to it nothing crazy though. (So no flowers were harmed in these) lol. The woman and I were bored so took little cruise here for some fun.

The bosses kid decided to park next to me at work.



96 XJ. I think it's 8" on 35s. Can't remember what he said. Looks huge in person,but I guess it really isn't THAT big.

There's a guy at work with a white one with 33s. I spoke in person with him and he hates it. Death wobble, terrible mileage, vibrations... he said he was jealous of the TB.

tell him to go check out jeepforum they can help him out.
He can get someone to rock the steering wheel and check the TRE's and drag link, usually it is one or more of those.
If that isn't it he can move to his ball joints, do a quick alignment check (with a tape measure) to see if it is close
and get his tires balanced.

It will never ride like a TB but he can make it safe.

This guy(Bob) loves his. Only complaint he has are the tires, which are Procomp X-Terrains. There is a lot of custom fab work done on his end. He has a pretty well outfitted machine shop in his garage(MIG and TIG, tubing bender, plasma cutter, drill press, etc). Definitely trying to become friends with him.

Roadie, on your buddy and his terrible mileage, that could be gearing.
Those XJ's usually come stock with about a 28 inch tire, if they go up to 31s, they recommend
at a 4.10 gear ratio to just get back close to stock. They also have about 100 less hp than we do.
