One thing that I would like to see implemented like at the OS, is that when you put a link in your post, be it a text or image link, that the destination page opens up in a new browser window.

Currently the destination page opens in the same browser which usually breaks continuity, either when I am reading or when I am trying to get some info across.

I know that you can right-click on the links and say open in new window (or tab), and I do this often when browsing sites, but I seem to like when it does it automatically in forums.

Until we can fix this properly, here is an alternative.

You will notice a new BBCode avaliable now. It's called URLNEW=.

Use this from now on as a temporary fix. The following:

I just want to know how you got a 4.3L I6 and a 4L65E transmission!

I agree, though... it's taken some getting used too, having to right click links and such...

The 4.3 ... that's a typo from the magazine.

The 4L65e ... that's what the 2006+ has, doesn't it? Or did I read that wrong somewhere?

OK, I remembered where I may have picked up the wrong info. Way back in 2007 when I was getting the my deep transmission pan and TransGo shift kit installed, my mechanic mentioned to me that he had a bit of a problem because the shift kit was really for a 4L60 but I had a 4L65 with a couple of small differences.

Now in my Helms manual, they actually list 3 transmissions in 2006:
4L60-E
4L65-E
4L70-E

WIth associated RPO code of M30 - M32 - M70. I will check in the glove box to see what it says.

However, this page clearly indicates that in 2006, the 4.2 and 5.3 engines got the 4L60-E, and that the 6.0 (SS) engine got the 4L70-E (not not the 4L65-E). So why are all 3 versions listed in my Helms manual?

BTW, there is some good information in the documents on that page as to what the differences are between transmissions.
