hey where is this trail you guys went to looks pretty cool and i wanted to do something next weekend.

Western MA, somewhere in the Greenfield area. 4 trails total that we hit today, first was Tunnel Rd., can't remember the others names. And all are unmaintained town roads if I remember correctly.

And you will need to have good/bigger tires and a G80 would help out a lot, but be prepared to need a lot of assistance w/o being locked. I know Damien, has done this trail on his 31's and open/open, but from what I was told he needed assistance on most of the 'obstacles'.

I only had one problem that I needed a tug on, and it wasn't even one of the obstacles, just a damn stump that wedged under my frame/ sliders. Led to me denting up my bumper and smashing a tail light... Not a big deal to me, but also be prepared for possible damage.

Other than that the TB did awesome with the No-slip in the rear. Simply put and quoted from Fishsticks, 'It just works'...

That is a great trail. The fact that you stayed up with that Jeep and its flex says allot about the way you've build your truck. Well Done.

Yea, lack of flex is really my only downfall at the moment. Kept up with the Jeep nicely, actually had an easier time thru a couple spots. He was locked in the front only and me in the rear.

I see you've entered the wonderful land of front wheel hang... a front locker will help with that (get a spare CV shaft).

Yes, I love the No-slip, couldn't be happier. Can just crawl up everything now w/o waiting for the slip to engage the G80.

And I was thinking how much easier I'd have it on the trails being locked up front, just not looking forward to the install, and I'd like to regear at the same time and I'm not confident with that really.

And one other thing holding me back on a locker/ regear is that I don't want to put that money into it. Rather put it toward SAS, which I think will be on my list next year once the TB is paid off and my company gives me a work truck.

And I was running 17 PSI.

I think the TB and the jeep GC are cousins or something.
They both have front and rear coils with an I6 or V8.
They both are more comfortable than an XJ.
That being said he had some serious flex in that one pic.

Yea, front was disco'd, rear still connected. Will prob disco that next time, or just remove it all together, it took a beating yesterday, and hung me up on a couple rocks, so I needed to back it up and pick a slightly different line.

Looked like a pretty challenging trail. Have you noticed any increase in traction with the new tires? The truck is looking good!

I worry a little seeing the spotter hanging or pushing on the vehicle though. Looks like a good way to get hurt.

Trails were definatley not a cake walk, but with picking the right light I didn't need to take the strap on the obstacles, just on a f@#kin' stump, couldn't get off of it, kept sliding on to it and hanging up my frame, then rear shock mount.

Took a while of hi lifting and throwing rocks under the tires to get some traction and height over it. Other than that tho the trails were really fun. A bunch of off camber stuff that was a bit nerve racking and strange.

As for the tires I'd say they are better than my last, but I also have the No-slip, and did both at the same time, so can't for sure tell, but they certainly get the job done.

I'd say it really isn't that bad. It was just some slow crawling spots that weren't crazy angles, just needed a tiny bit of rocking to gain some traction.

Gotcha. Just stay safe out there. I always think of the consequences if I were to get a serous injury that far from pavement.

I thought that went without saying! Although slipping and falling on your butt has a much lighter penalty than slipping under a vehicle or getting a hand ran over.

Yea man, it was a blast, too bad you couldn't make it, but I'm sure your having fun on vaca on the Cape. I need to look at the trail runs coming up, but I wanted to possibly go to Swanzey. Have you been there? Just want a perspective on the trails if you have. After that I want to go to Carnage Hill again as well.

Also my girl and I want to do some camping this summer, so I talked her in to going out your way and figured I could get you and a couple others out to do these trails again (possibly have my buddy along with his Rubicon). I'll keep you posted on that, once we decide on a time frame...

Yea I took a digger just walking down one of the rock faces and slipped.

I have not been to swan. I've hurd good tho I'll try to get some more info soon on it. Defiantly going to carnage avian that was fun also mabell is a good time too but we will see I'll get at you with info on that tho.

Cool, yea I want to go to Ma Bell as well. Plan to get a lot of wheelin' in this year! I think next year I'll be working on SAS, so I want to get as much in before I rip into the TB.

A view from the rear when my front tire was a foot and half in the air.



And the only damage that occurred, this was when I was stuck on the small stump my rear slid to the right with a small tree behind me. Was just resting against it, but while hi-lifting the tree crack the tail light and pushed in the bumper some. So here is my ghetto fix, while I wait for my eBay tails to show up...

Whole light was smashed up, gathered the pieces I could find and taped it up some and hit some of it with red paint so it'd be red not clear, when I hit my brakes. haha
