Crazytb on the OS is now a member of the skidplate mafia, and I'm down to:

(1) Aluminum V8 Skid Plate

I will be ordering more I6 steel skids at some point, here... Sooner if I have an order for one...

I've got an order for one, so I'm ordering a set today... There will be (3) steel I6 skids in stock in a couple weeks... They are $165 powder coated, with SS hardware, and shipped...

Awwww man your kill'n me! I gotta scrape together some cash to get me one of those bad boys before you sell out again.

You should look into stamping your logo, or laser etching hahahaha, then people all over will know these are your skid plates.

I used button head, hex recess bolts. There are new things (I think we discussed them here somewhere) called "rock washers". For new fabricated stuff like my gas tank armor, Neil just welded a 1/4" piece of tubing around where the bolt head goes.

If you order one before they are powder coated, as I said on page 2 of this thread, for $20 extra, I can weld on some tubing as rock washers.

I can make them too, but why? If you weld them to the plate, you would have been a bunch of time and material ahead to just weld some 3/8" tall sections of 1.25" pipe around the bolt holes; and if you don't weld them to the plate, they may keep the bolt head from getting messed up, but they won't stop it from shearing, because they are held in place by the bolt they are trying to protect...

Oh, I understand that... I was specifically talking to the 2 guys who were asking about the protection, and who don't have skid plates yet...

I would think that you guys with the Aluminum plates could get the "welded rings" put on at a local welding shop for around what (4) of the washers would cost, shipped, though...

Well done. I know mine was a bitch to get off from the bolt heads being scraped up. I need to get some protection welded on mine.
