Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Help! How important is this wire?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by DeviousPizzaGuy » Mon Oct 31, 2016 1:54 pm

During installation of my rough ountry leveling kit, I found this loose red wire on driver side near the fuse box. I'm pretty sure it is supposed to connect to the third post on the fuse box, but I'm missing the nut..

Looking back, this may be better off in the troubleshooting section, but everything is working correctly as far as I know.

This looks like the wire that powers your 12V feed to you 7-pin wire harness in the bumper. This will allow you to feed 12V power to your trailer. It can be hooked up to a powered Stud under the neighboring fuse block.

Craig is correct. Also, it doesn't come with a nut on that stud, but it's an M6, IIRC.

I thought it was the self destruct wire and not to touch it?

I'm assuming that it's disconnected for a reason, so it may BE the self destruct wire if I try to hook it back up lmao

It's the power wire for the trailer harness. It comes disconnected from the factory on like every 360 for some reason.

For the same reason that the trucks' trailer power wiring comes from the factory without a fuse in it.

I was hoping he would sense that someone asked this question and he would make an appearance...
