Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Poly motor mounts

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Yeah, I know vibration...

But I can kill a set of stockers on 1 trail run to the point of dripping fluid.

I'm looking to create a set of poly or rubber mounts that utilize the stock mounts.

I will post up as I come up with more information.

Something tells me you don't suffer from the same driveline rotational oscillation resonant frequency (10 Hz) that aligns perfectly with the 600 RPM idle speed that the hydraulic mounts absorb. ;)

That's probably a pretty safe bet.

Holy crap! Killing a motor mount in one trip out?!?!? haha

Is something in contact somewhere?
Could your frame be flexing beyond the limit of the motor mounts?
It's not how fast you go. It's how quick you get there. Lifted TBSS Build

I have a 7.40 low range and weigh 7000lbs its just too much torque for these hydraulic balloons.

I tore my motor mounts apart on my 'vette. This caused me all sorts of issues, things made contact, and it was just bad in general.

I replaced my motor mounts with steel but kept my rubber transmission mount. I know "they" say to never do that. Well, 50k daily driven miles, countless dragstrip passes, some uh "spirited" street competitions, and several burnout contests later, everything is still copacetic.

Maybe you might have the same luck? I dunno, just a suggestion.

I have thought about it. I know I want to run stiffer motor mounts than trans mounts. When stiffer at the rear things to break in the adapter/tailhousing area.

I've been running solid motor mounts and a poly rear mount in the bird for more than 10 years without any problems. If you didn't give a shit about a lil extra vibration I'd probably lean towards that. I haven't found the vibration to be bad at all, just a bit noticeable, and that's in a unibody chassis.
