Noisy Hi-Lift??

Noising around the FJ forums and thought I'd cross post some good suggestions to quiet down the infamous Hi-Lift. I plan on doing some of these ASAP (especially the tape around the lower base)

Thanks for posting. I hate all the noise mine makes when I have it on my roof rack... I'll definitely be using these techniques.

Mine seems pretty quiet but that probably has a lot to do with where it's mounted.

Also... if you guys get a handle isolator, make sure you get the hi-lift branded one. You can put it on and remove it without removing the top clevis. Much better than the Daystar model.

Also, I've found that liquid wrench does wonders to help free up a sticky mechanism.
