Resonator Removal?

I have been running mine for more then a year without any additional pipe added to it. That was also while it was sitting 8" s off the ground. The kids may be a little dumber for it, but otherwise no issues.

^Thought I'd get those type of replies lol.. I didn't take these pics with Offroadtb in mind, but I thought I'd try anyways.... I'm going up to Corbett in West Palm hopefully next weekend and should get some real pictures there...
As far as the resonator: I really want to, I hate the way it looks.. but I hate even more hearing any of the I6, I've heard sound clips with no resonator and I really don't like it...

It's really not bad with the stock muffler.

If the noise bothers you, I have a patented procedure:

1. Remove Resonator

2. Apply Volume to stereo

3. Increase (2) as needed

I have the Magnaflow exhaust and I forget it is there until I have people in the car to talk to verses jamming out on the radio.

I decided just to cut it off... We were all just sitting at my friends house and came by a sawzall so i said //// it... i really only notice it at idle, once I start moving the MTs drown it out

I want to whack off mine sometime, but will lack the motivation until I get the tune, fan, and quite possibly a new CAI.
I bent it the last time I went to Bundy Hill:

I changed my muffler as well, but I had a tip out the rear corner, then smashed it and cut it off like the resonator and it was fine, but then I added a tip again and it lost almost all inside sound and cleaned up the sound outside. I would say hack it off no matter what, but if you are worried about sound or drone, just add a bit o pipe and tip outside the body lines and you will be happy.

I was running a res. delete for awhile,huge pipe!



then my muffler decided to try and look like a cheese grater some how,so i went back to stock in the spring.

when i get around to it,im going to go back to a pipe with a tip on the end(and not so big this time!)

It's been on way too long for this site to ignore it! Cut it off. You will not regret it. I like the way it sounds with the stock muffler.

Hope you're agreeing with me and not implying that mine is still attached. I cut it off when I took a utility knife to the bumper covers.

So we all agree to cut ours off for the sake of what we can get over and how it sounds after it's removed.

I had my come off backing up out of a ditch prior to wanting to turn the tb over to a wheeling beast. Had a pipe welded on need to cut back tho

Lol, I hacked mine off quite a while back, welded a chrome tip on. Later on down the road, I went ahead and put in a new muffler as well, sucker is loud now.
