Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Knock on wood, But that is the one advantage of an open SF axle. I don't have a G80 to blow up.. It could happen James, Rory, and Mike at any time. Jason and I are safe!

Hopefully that didn't stir up the bad Ju-Ju.

Those look more solid than those goofy designed factory models.

She did it on her own too, because I'm at my desk at work. Good work babe. :thumright:
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Rated at 10,000 lbs each. Think we're good. Now to finish the rock sliders, mount the Hi-lift, and set up the Baja Rack.

great work JorDanee, it reminds me, my younger brother was changing the oil in his wife's car. I think it is a Grand Prix or something like that. They hadn't been married but a couple of months. He couldn't get the oil filter off and was really steaming. He isn't really mechanically inclined anyway. I think it was hard to get to and he couldn't turn it, get a wrench in there or something.

He gets mad and tells his wife he is going to the store to get a different wrench. When he gets home with the new wrench she tells him that she took care of it and got the filter off. He was really steaming then until it hit him that they live beside our dad(who is mechanically inclined) and dad must have come over and removed the oil filter. We've gotten several laughs out of that.

I can't even make a grade 2 joke, especially since it's in double shear.

Looks to be course thread. 1/2" grade 2 (my best guess) or 3/8" grade 5?

Technically they're grade 3, but don't know the number off the top of my head.

The grade 2, .5", coarse thread are good for 10,500 like mentioned, when doubled up to distribute the load between two different bolts you can up that a bit. I wouldn't be worried about pulling on it with my 12k winch.

They only snap easy cause you're putting a twisting load on em while tightening them down and you're a hoss.

Since you're such an expert on bolts, why don't you come to TECORE and lecture us all on the different grades of bolts.

So redid the entire Baja rack mounting system. Found and installed the new front tow hooks. BUT.....still no sliders. Super disappointed. Especially since I spent 16 hours at the shop today trying to help get things done, but my step-dad is sick and wasn't functioning 100%. He tried, but when you're 69, well, you don't move as fast as you used to. So, not sure what to do. Won't get anything done before leaving for TECORE tomorrow. The sliders are technically built, they just aren't mounted , and I don't have time to drop the rig off tomorrow in the "hope" that it will get done.

Can you tell I'm frustrated? Especially since I just wasted a vacation day.....Oy!

I know a lot about wasted vacation days.... Hell a wasted week of vacation back in march. I schedule a week off back in November to go snowboarding in Vermont and told the significant other the dates and confirmed it was doable. Somehow she messed up the dates and thought it was the weekend before, scheduled practice and tournaments with her volleyball team my days off. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled one bit....
