What did you do to your GMT today?
Not mine, but doing a disco rebuild on an Envoy for a co-worker currently. Got it all apart yesterday and confirmed it needs a couple bearing and outer seal to be back to good. Swapping CV as well since it showed some spline wear.

I would not do it except for good money. Hate taking the shit apart to get to it and messing with the grease. Dreading putting it back together. Simple job, but for some reason this one is not a fun one to me, but neither are CVs and this requires same damn work.

Took the oil pan out so I could pull the front diff and find my oil leak. I found that the inner axle seal was leaking and dripping down and coating the oil pan AND several of the oil pan bolts were not even finger tight!! Rear main looks fine, but I've got some cleaning to do on this pan and windage tray.
On another note, I ordered up 4.56 gears so now I have to drop the rear axle and bring them both in for install

Dropping that pan probably wasn't very fun Craig. Amazing how much gunk is inside these engines - they don't look like the oil commercials.
Love the wheels Cory. Are those just spare tire steelies for the TB? Where did you pick them up? Post a picture when you get them on the road.

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. My goal was finding the oil leak and replace the front disconnect, and fortunately everything came off the pan with no issue. The only things you need to get out of the way are the disconnect, front diff (pull to the side), cross members (come out easy) and drop the steering rack (I was able to leave the tie rods connected).
But the layer of baked on oil grime makes me wonder if the previous owner didn't change the oil as often as they should have...
Either way, new oil pan on the way!

How do you like those breaks? I need to upgrade soon, I have Napa adaptive one on both cars and after a year they suck. Don't like them.
I changed oil and did the VVT valve just in case. You do have to take off power steering pump to pull all the way out. Simple 1 bolt on VVT.
Noticing some vibration, may be my offroading, will need to look at motor mounts over holidays.
