Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

that could be the difference between there and the guys here in the sticks where many are working the areas they grew up in and dealing with people/families they are familiar with.

And some of their best arrest story's starts with "I pulled them over for a cracked windshield" or not using their turn signal . Or my favorite "I seen a guy driving that I knew didn't have a drivers license, pulled him over and locked him up for his 10th DUI"

You didn't catch the irony of his comment.

But man, this is quite a topic tangent.

I'll add this and then we can get back to topic:
The info i learned from this site actually helped me on duty. I pulled this truck over for 101mph in a 60 mph zone. He said he was only going 80ish. I had to explain to this guy that the jacked up truck and oversize tires threw off his speedo.
Then he got a fat ticket.

Installed new leaf springs and new U-bolts. Also did the upper ball joints last week. Working on the exhaust system now.

It is under the truck and ready to bolt in.

ok, I got my rear diff in finally.
with 3.42 and 32's my speedo would read 60 and I was running about 63.
with 4.10 and 32's my speedo reads 60 and I am running about 58.
I expect if I move to 33's my speedo will be pretty close.
What is weird though is I don't have any lights on even though the front and rear are different gear ratios.

I didnt have any lights and I drove with 4.56s and 3.73s in the front for 2 months. I dont suspect you should get any lights, even if you put it in 4 wheel drive. Just your transfer case would be so happy.

that's good news, I kept reading about all the guys having trouble with dash lights and issues getting the speedo calibrated etc. I know a tune can fix those things (for 06+) but it looks like there won't be a rush.

I'm installed skyjacker nitro 8000 shocks in the rear. Let's see how they handle. Scratch and dent for $70. When they arrived there was not one scratch or dent.

I've had mine a little over a year. I'm not thrilled with the appearance of them but they function like new. I have some surface rust.

I still have dash lights. I wonder why your not getting any... seems to be right when I do 65 I'm actually doing 57

Moots and I both have the 4 channel 2006+ axles, maybe that is the difference.

Yesterday I went to a local pick & pull and got spare bumper reinforcement for $11.80. ;) I picked this up because I didn't want to cut up my original in case I wanted to put my bumper cover back on.

There are a flood lights and are very bright! Wanted them to light up the sides and a little ways away down the trail, from testing them around my yard they will.
This picture does not do them justice, my low beams are off.

If you check the math, I'm pretty sure you just put in 3.73 gears, not 4.10s.

navigator wrote:Moots and I both have the 4 channel 2006+ axles, maybe that is the difference.

YES that is the difference!! :slap: With the 4 channel, the diff isn't even in the ABS equation. It is only comparing straight wheel speeds from all 4 wheels.
navigator wrote:What is weird though is I don't have any lights on even though the front and rear are different gear ratios.

The ABS wouldn't pick up on mismatching front and rear diff gears because it doesn't need to know the front diff, even in a pre 2006 vehicle. Its just the act of changing the rear gear in the pre 2005s that change the calculated ratio that the ABS module receives. Matching the front diff won't fix any ABS lights that pop up on pre 2006 models.
