That sounds about par for the course. Maybe a bit worse than most. That's why you've gotta check the play there, and check it often.

Took advantage of a dry day and blacked out the grill and the wheels with VHT high temperature wheel paint. Recruited my oldest son to do some taping off. I like it and he seemed eager to help. And although it's not the official logo I made a temporary handcut decal for my Judith. ImageImageImage

Installed the swingarm bumper/tirecarrier/thingamijigger (believe thats the technical term) from MDB. Pretty sure I'm using the other space correctly...

Image

Mike had installed the brackets for these simple wire shelves, so I bought the arms and a 6 ft shelf, cut it to 4.5 ft. Also mike had spots on the carrrier for a highlift, but my highlift is already mounted so I got creative and used that spot for my shelf.

My Z71 springs have sagged to some degree this past week hauling items around on the farm. To combat this until my air bags arrive, I put in some spacers and longer shocks. However I found the bushings to be the incorrect size. The bolt had WAY too much wiggle room and I figured it would wear the bolt and make a clunk every time the suspension changed direction of travel.

Image

To combat this I found a steel bushing in our supply rack that was as close to the right size as possible, cut it in half with a cutting wheel, and inserted it in the bushing to fill the void. Worked perfectly!

Ordered some parts to put a new fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator in my truck. Pulled the PCM and put it in a box. Sent PCMforless some money. Filled out an order sheet.

Can't wait for parts to arrive and my pcm to come back.

Inspected the driveshaft ujoints and found a needle bearing in one of the caps. Might be the culprit of my mysterious popping noise. So I oderes a couple.

Well, the starter went out today. Since I don't feel like replacing it today, looks like next weekends project is to replace the starter.

Installed my James downing styled light bar. I used 3/8x2" carriage bolts with the head licked in the roof rack channel. That sucker not going anywhere.

It's amazing how that simple of an addition seems to completely change the image of these trucks. I'm ashamed that I haven't built one yet

Just out of curiosity, before it failed, did it seem to be getting stuck? My dad said his 05 EXT 5.3 has been doing that sporadically, and he thinks it's the starter.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.
