Replaced the power steering pump pulley, seems to have stopped the grinding noise. It looked like the darn puller had advanced forward a little. Might have caused the grinding, :scratch: will test it while driving...
The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.

well you guys can add another stock outer tre to the list of failures :wallbash: glad you guys have taught me to keep spares :facepalm: pictures to come and to think 1st day of :flex dirty: since lifting and wheels and brand new tires pictures to come and maybe a write up

I replaced plugs, coil packs, CPAS, and cam shaft sensor. Cleaned the air filter and throttle body. Pulled the radiator, fan and shroud. This was all after the 3.5 hours it took me to completely drop the transmission and get it prepped for rebuild.

Mike, bleed the abs block under the drivers feet. I had the same issues when I replaced my calipers. I had to crack all four lines and bleed at that junction block first, then bleed the calipers.

I hate when my steering wheel isn't perfectly straight after I do an alignment... guess I'll have to go back in there.

And Mike Barton, I got those bilstein shocks you recommended. To be honest, I was expecting the very best, but they feel a bit under-damped. I almost like the old BDS whitebodys more (before their bushings wore out). I'm going have to give it some time before I pass full judgement though. I'll let it eat at TECORE and then see.

Is your drivers side, lower control arm twisted a little? Is that ok? How is it handling?

The rod end will naturally rotate as the suspension cycles in the arc from the panhard rod. If loaded at all, the joint rotates as needed through the ball and misalignment on the rod end. The axle has to get pretty seriously skewed for there to be any issues. The stock e brake cable should limit it far before the rod end or the extended brake lines max out.

Got my new to me radiator & oil skids on tonight with my factory tow hooks. Followed MDB suggestion on modding the radiator skid since previous owner had steel a bumper. Thanks Mike for the pointer. All protected for Tecore. :)

I finally have suitable replacement side mirrors. First company I ordered from (on ebay) had a brand name which wasn't Kool-vue, and seemed to have decent reviews, so I ordered them. Imagine my surprise when the Kool-vue boxes showed up on my step!!! So I installed them anyway to see just how bad they could be. I discovered that every other time I started the truck, the memory functions would swing one or both mirrors to the far extreme and I had to keep resetting their position. The company offered me a $50 rebate for my trouble, and I said no thanks, take your crap back. They actually provided a pre-paid return shipping label, so it wasn't a total loss on my part.

After some more digging, I found the Dorman brand for sale. Quite a bit more expensive (around $160 per mirror seems average?) but the company rep answered all my questions quickly. Then I lucked out... found each mirror individually on sale through Amazon, so it cost me a total of $160 for the pair. They arrived last weekend and were quickly installed. Visually, there isn't much difference between the Dorman and Kool-vue brands, except the Dorman has a round trap-door on the underside, I guess for access to the folding pivot? However the sensors in the Dorman have been rock-solid. My mirrors stay exactly where I put them, and even the curb-view is working correctly.

The mirror swap was done because an in-law decided to back into my passenger mirror and bust it all... while I was two States away from home. Gotta love it. However now I have a pair of replacements, and I've been upgraded to clear turn signal lenses, and I didn't have to pay a dime for it!

Now what do I need to do to get someone else to pay for upgrading my headlights to the clear turn signals? :hmm:

Started my disco rebuild today. Still waiting on GMparts Direct to ship me the parts so I got my Pry Bar set(yesterday) and 36mm socket(today) So I figured I'd get busy. Everything went smooth till I got to the end link which seized on me :wallbash: Out came the hacksaw :D

This was the mess I get to deal with. The fork was in great shape and showed little wear. Looked like it was packed with peanut butter :lol:

When I got the CV Shaft separated from the Disco this came out

I found out that I have NO Bearings where the CV Shaft goes.....
