Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I could easily secure 2 or 3 milk crates with one strap on my flat rack. They would be secured well actually. Sides are not needed. Are you letting the crates slide into the walls or how do you think the walls secure that load? If they are along the rear of the rack, what keeps them from sliding forward when braking?

Sounds like you don't need to be more dilligent and you are securing your load well, but sides are not why.

Just the way things are packed helps keep stuff from moving around too much, the walls are just added peace of mind.
I'm sure one strap would be fine on a flat rack as well I just feel better knowing the walls are there with only one strap.

are you talking about a bungee cargo net?
A lot would depend on what you were trying to tie down.
Where I find them useful is throw over a tarp to keep them from flapping as much in the wind.

Make sure you are away for other cars during adjustment, just added to the difficulties. What you seeing for swr?

Its all over the place hasn't been the same twice in a row. Had 1.7 on channel 1 and 2 on channel 40 was the best I got. I had the tunable tip all the way down and that was the best I got. I'm thinking my overall antenna length is too long and I need a shorter one.

What channel has your lowest SWR? Are you checking both ends and the middle? If you have no really low area in the middle check your coax. You may have a problem with the connector on your coax. Do you have any kinks or flat spots in the cox? If so your problem is in your coax.

That would have been the stats I listed. 1.7 on 1 and 2 on 40. Ohhhhh I'm running the cable through the door and now that you mention it I'm wondering if its getting pinched, But its against the door seal and I can't see how its being pinched....

What about channel 19 or 20? You should see a lower in the center channels.

Removed the pia plasti-dip from my wheels. When I got new tires the paint got messed up and I decided to just remove it. Since it had been on for a little over a year and half it wouldn't peel to easy even though I had almost a can per wheel. Found the good ole red can of brakeclean to work on the heavy removal and then mineral spirits worked well for the remaining residue and leftovers. A nice tire bath later and good to go.
