Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Rear diffs are 225 round here and front I never priced but I would imagine the extra work work be a good bit more for removal and reinstall

before i swapped the bigger tires and rear, i got 22 mpg highway...

now I'm getting 13.4 city/highway and 11 in 4high on snowy roads. (doing donuts in the yard all weekend may of influenced the 11mpg)

the 4.10 gearing kinda hurts at 70mph

I dont go 70 MPH often in NYC but I can 100% see a difference between 3.73s and 4.56s on 33's I got about about give or take 3 mpg since.

33" tires, 3.42 gears. Dont know weight. 13 MPG city. I haven't gone more than 20 miles interstate at a time since I bought it. I think I was getting around 15-16 when I had the stock wheels/tires but I didn't have the scangauge to tell me instantly yet.

33s with 3.42 gears, you are high risk of breaking something offroad.

Are you just talking about powertrain? I always use low range unless I'm on flat ground to keep it from stressing too much.

That doesn't protect anything after the transmission though. You're still running a low gear ratio to a large tire, and requiring the drive shaft and rear axle to take the brunt of the torque.

depends on brand. tire guy told me that my specific tire comes out to about 32.7 at 40psi. although he could very well have been wrong.

18.7mpg with 265/70/17 tires and 3.42 gearing. Don't know how I did it... I was really just driving normal around the city/backroads.

I kept a good eye on the MPG for this past weekends adventures. I filled up and drove 180 miles with half at 60ish and the rest 75ish mph. Scan said 16.1 mpg on arrival. I put ten gallons of fuel in for the trails. Leaving Sunday I was at 260 miles and needed an additional 9.9 gallons to fillup. That put the mixed driving right at 13 which I though pretty good for some well used low range over the trails. I drove the 180 miles home at 65 due to Matt not having OD and him following me. I showed 17.2 for that trip. I have repeatedly seen my scangauge to be an accurate reflection of hand calculations so i trust it with .5 mpg either way. Pretty happy overall with the setup currently.
