Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I had a box cutter blade in one of my Bravada tires a month or so ago. I am certain that it was propped up against the tire so that when I backed out of the parking spot I forced it into the tire.

Need me to come help give em an attitude adjustment?

:friday: That's funny because I am pretty sure it happened because I provided someone an "attitude adjustment" the week before.

Replaced the belt tensioner assembly, looks like it should have been done awhile ago :wallbash:
didn't stop the whine, turns out its the fan clutch  but supposedly, it shouldn't be replaced unless it throws a code :gimp:
so I'll start accumulating tools and parts in the meantime :mechanic:
The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.

I used mine to pull up some shrubbery from the front of the house.
We are getting ready to build a porch across the front of the house and have to relocate the shrubs temporarily.

Had to tighten up the UCA bolts. I guess I didn't get them tight enough before, and they loosened up on me. If they loosen up again, I'm going to put some sort of secondary "anti-rotation" plate on the outside of the JJs.

Tried installing a new mode actuator for dash vents.... All buttoned back up and damn thing doesn't even work. Thing that is fishy, there was a warning in the box saying if the unit goes beyond markings it won't function properly, well it was beyond the markings when I opened the box and wouldn't come close to lining up. I popped open the case and only moved the large gear, still didnt help but found out the original stripped out in the white outside gear.

It was a pain in the ass and I'm furious it doesn't even work, now I've got to tear the damn thing back out....sheesh.

Installed some new to me parts I bought off a fellow member for a real good price. Z71 springs, 2" rear spacer, 1.5" 6x5 wheel spacers, Guard dog 265/75R16 on stock 16" rims. New skyjackers N8030 shocks and adjusted the radflo's to 2.5". Might adjust higher but for now I am good. Still got a rad, oil skid's, trans cooler and trans temp gauge to install but another night. Pictures in am so everyone knows it is real. ;)
Edit: Am pic :)

I haven't gotten to the front yet. I still need to clean that thing up bigtime since it rolled around in the back of your truck.

But the rear set up beautifully. 5 thou of backlash, and pretty decent patterns. I just need to find new ring gear bolts. Stretched one of them and broke one off before we realized they were left hand threaded. Why in the world are they LH threads, and how do you torque them down... all the torque wrenches we have are for RH thread only!

(Edit to make the last thread reference RH, not LH)

My buddy did the rear so I actually dont know how they torque em down. The front is simple for the most part. Me and jason got it done getting the backlash was probably the most confusing part for myself honestly.

James, I used a beam style torque wrench for the left hand threads, a little more trouble than the click style, but it works.

Matt - who made those rear control arms?

I finally got my mode blend door installed with another unit from local parts store, the second time around I knocked the sucker out in maybe 15-20 mins. Also did a fresh oil change and should be good for another few thousand miles!
