Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Agreed. I don't want to hear that the recovery equipment fund has been depleted to get the armor. The body lift is about the LAST major functional mod I did, and I resisted it for years. (Counting the rear bumper as mostly decorative)

Finally got the cancer removed from under the sides. Should have been done three years ago when I removed the cancer that was my exe.

Also straightened up the interior after a weekend of traveling (Sunday-Tuesday) with the kids and girlfriend.

However....I am curious to what you have found???? How are UCA working out?

I'm not trying to overdo it, and the cost isn't bad. I was really just curious if I could find something incrementally better, plus my current TREs are pretty much shot at this point. This solution uses a CrMo threaded link. So hopefully I won't need any special sleeves to reinforce it like some of the other upgrades we've seen.

Its kinda a pieced-together solution. Parts came in today, so I'll try to get it on the truck when I have time (too many spring house projects right now). Will post up a thread when I have something concrete. As is, it may not even fit, and I could just be out $120. [/Teaser!]

UCAs are still kicking. Saw one of my uca bolts loosened a touch, need to get in there and tighten that bad boy back up a bit more than before.

Did some minor cosmetic stuff, got rid of the rear hatch handle, plasti dipped the grille, and measured out the starting pieces of a drawer for the back to hold all my camping/ fishing gear.

The bad thing is that this is the second flat that I haven't immediately recognized. Drove about 15 miles on it at 70mph.

That's the sad part, so do I. It didn't even feel squirly. I need to add the caveot that I recognized it after being parked for about 1 or 2 hours, so it might have mostly deflated while parked. No idea if I actually drove with it fully deflated, but there were wear marks on the sidewall, which makes me think it was fairly well deflated.

Bacon, attached is the thin piece of steel in my tire. No idea what it is. Metal is quite brittle, kind of like a razor blade. 0 psi when I changed it out. Rim was sitting on the ground.

Edit - actually, now that I played with the parts a bit more, that's exactly what it is, a box cutter blade. Hm.

I would say someone doesn't like you.

I had a box cutter blade in one of my Bravada tires a month or so ago. I am certain that it was propped up against the tire so that when I backed out of the parking spot I forced it into the tire.

James, time to get a trail cam set up and hidden. Sucks that it would seem to be intentional

It really looks like it's been in there (or on the road) for a long time. It wasn't like it was pristine by any means. And if someone really wanted to pop my tire, I'd go between the lugs, not into the middle of a lug. I'm not suspecting foul play the more I think of it.

when I used to work in a tire shop, I pulled a dog tooth out of a flat one time.
The lady was like "yeah, we ran over a dog the other day but didn't think much of it at the time."
