I got a new toy in the mail Saturday.

This will be replacing the CB in my Envoy and the small one in the Envoy will be moving into the Yukon.

Well on the way home from picking up metal for a project, my check engine light came back on
About 15 minutes later(about a mile down a dirt "road") my ABS/Stabilitrak lights came back on....

Hooked up the scanner when I got back and had P0171.... again. And C0035....again :hmm:

Started with the Wheel Speed Sensor code, last time I had the code it ended up being a bad connection. This time the plastic retaining clip had broke and the sensor wire rubbed against the tire eventually wearing through. Put one of my spare wheel bearings in and put a zip tie around the clip for added security.

Since my plugs are new, MAF and throttle body were just cleaned, my mind instantly went to secondary air valve...
But since P0171 was what popped up right away, I didn't check for any other or stored codes. Sure enough there was a cyl 6 misfire.
Pulled the PCM bracket off and started tightening intake manifold bolts, they were all loose. But once I got to the back... roughly 2 turns backwards and the bolts were in my hand :wallbash:

So I'm glad I found it when I did. Hoping that that was the cause of the P0171 and not the secondary air BS (pretty sure it was since the bolts were loose around cyl 6 and that's the misfire I had)

Started the weekend with a simple Po128 code. Set off the to the local parts store for a thermostat and while I'm at it replace the coolant temp sensor. Since its right there.

A slight slip of the crescent I was using as a breaker to release the tensioner pulley, and it's another trip to the parts store for a new radiator.

There is an upside to puncturing the radiator while changing the.thermostat, gives you so much more room to work.

All the posts read over at TV say the coolant temp sensor is right above the thermostat and there's so many arguing that it is. I say nay nay. They did in fact move it. I called the service dept and they assured me it wasn't worth the effort to try to get to it.

Getting the radiator in and out was made easier by removing the bumper and grip so I decided it's a good time to put in the HIDs. Got them in, then the corner piece of the bumper that holds it on broke ripping out one of the HID fogs. Amazon to the rescue.

Been a fun filled weekend.

Seems to have been tried alot, but still not seeing enough failures to justify spending much on an alternative when the stockers have proved adequate for most over the years. I like to to know where the fusable link is and know its easy to replace on a trail.

However....I am curious to what you have found???? How are UCA working out?

Put it on jack stands in the garage and tore the entire front suspension apart to replace a bunch of crap.... again

I'm really starting to hate Michigan roads... :wallbash: :hissyfit:

Hopefully my new LCA's are in right away in the morning.

Decided I dont need a roof rack. the only thing i'd really be carrying up there is my traction boards. So here's my creativity at work.
Roamed around Lowe's for about an hour with several ideas in my head. Bought enough parts for 3 different methods and only cost me about $20.

Here's what I went with.

I had thought of using two sepearte mounts for each board, but that would've required double the drilling and I would've had to climb up on each side to get them down. This is perfectly accessible from just standing on the back tire. Still might change some of it, but for the most part, I'm satisfied thus far.

*Not pictured yet is the finished product. It was too dark to get a good pic. But on the L brackets, I bent them over so it's more of a hook shape. Then I sprayed them with bed liner to get rid of the shiney silver look. Drove 40 minutes with them up there and there was no extra noise, and to my pleasant suprise, they were still there when I got home!

Finished product pic is to come.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a breakdown in prioritization looks like...
