The one specific thing to offroading is DO NOT run a K&N air filter offroad! They let in 100 TIMES the amount of dirt as the stock filter...

I personally wouldn't run the K&N on the street either.
I can't remember if it was Kyle or Donny that ran the Green Filter but they were really impressed by it.

I think from all the threads I have read the Tune from PCMForLess is the best choice outside of re-gearing.

Chris, I think you nailed it. The best power mod you can do for this engine is regearing.

I know a lot of people swear by the tune... (maybe I'm just sour from my bad experience) but I think it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors voodoo.

A filter really cannot make that much of a difference. The only potential improvement it can do is MAYBE +0.1psi of intake pressure at full throttle. The intake of this engine already flows pretty well.

+1 on gearing.

Must have been Kyle on the filter. I run a cheapie Spectre oil-gauze filter relocated out of the box.

I live in wet country though. I'm more worried about water/mud than dust.

I would scratch the CAI. Unless you don't plan on offroading....

Just out of curiosity why do you have a light bar?

Well when you say light bar that makes me feel like you have a police light bar. I've noticed people going over board with red and blue lights so yeah I was curious.

Confused when seen out of context I guess. Police training I would assume did that

Love my green filter. Packed it full of mid and still brand new and clean inside

I have the volant which is a closed cai which has never given me problems and pretty much every weekend I'm wheeling. I replaced the muffler with the flow master 40 series but will be doing the cat soon. Tune, imo was the best mod. Personally all three are important. Thats just me though.

If they did they would be roundly mocked. Well known snake oil items that can't possibly work on our throttle bodies the way older ones used to work on carb intakes. Exhausts are not a place I'd spend ANY money on until EVERYTHING else was done for offroading. What's your mission? Go-fast, or offroading? If you're into offroading, have you been thwarted more by lack of ground clearance, or traction, or torque? If you're not into offroading ... I gotta ask......why not? :poke:

you need gears not throttle body spacers.
