Actually, we only discover the edge by touching it and leaning over to look.
We actually each got stuck twice on the easy third of the Rubicon we did. Got to practice with winch and Hilift and strap techniques, pretending to be solo and with a buddy both. A playground experience you can't get on crowded summer weekends. Most of my recent stucks have been pilot error in picking the wrong line, not equipment issues like my broken tie rod. Or moving when the entire field of motion wasn't scoped out first. Pure overconfidence and assuming the best and rushing the process. In other words - avoidable.
