Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Fuel mileage.

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by navigator » Wed May 18, 2016 1:29 pm

I get around 14-15 most of the time with most of my runs being under 15 miles. This is with 4.10 gears and 33's.

Went up to Sunday River recently to do the Tough Mountain challenge and do a little bit of camping. I wouldn't say that it was a long trip to get there but it was mostly all Maine backroads (which SUCK) and hilly, about 110 miles there and back. Anyways avg on my scanguage II said 16 mpg getting there and 18 mpg coming back. Pretty satisfied with that.

Don't have picture proof of the trip up but it was fairly hot that day, tranny temp was up to 180+ degrees, did a little bit of highway driving and kept getting stuck in construction zones... Which is why I took backroads on the way back.

My short is almost the same (I go through amost 20 stoplights in 9.5 miles to work and the same on the way homein north Scottsdale)
but really haven't taken any long trips yet to find my long and haven't been offroading (since my lift) yet as my weekends are being filled with looking at and buying a house

hahahahaha, I remember those days. The RTT took a good 5 mpg off my highway usage. I used to get 17-19mpg on 33s w/ 4.10. Install RTT, hwy mpg dropped to 12s, maybe 14 if the wind is right :druken:

Since this pic I’ve put more miles on it and I’ve gotten best fuel mileage to date at avg 17.4. Only thing ive changed is i run mmo every tank and i had transmission fluid changed. Idk what is up but im not complaining.

Yikes, the MPG on my last tank of gas was about 13.5mpg. Thats combined city and highway, but mostly highway.

3in front lift, Z71 rear springs, 32 inch mud tires, 3.42 gears.

I average 10mpg w/ 3.73, BDS lift w/ Z71 rear springs, and 32" Duratrac tires. I'll push 12-13 on highway...it's a PIG!
