custom weld sliders

i plan on making my own sliders, hopefully for cheaper than buying some, if im wrong please correct me...

i know how to weld, well will soon....
basically my question is what type of tube should i use, and how think?

1.5 - 2.0" DOM or cromoly which is usually another 1/2$ a foot. You're looking at between 20 - 25ft of tube. Can't wait to see some pics

You can cook your own burgers usually cheaper than going out to eat. Doesn't mean there's no value in restaurants.

A much better question to use Google for, or ask the instructor at your welding class, and even use as a class project. Come on, really - there's a hundred sites out there detailing how to design and fabricate rock sliders. And you're not even lifted yet, right? Not in a position to even need the rock sliders. So asking about a fantasy mod is honestly NOT what this site's about. That's now the function of the Offroad forum of the OS.

Come on guys not everyone can be perfect. Okay but I will be! Before you build your sliders you should do some research and find out why they are installed and what actually needs to be protected. THESE ARE NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH STEPS! And chromoly is about $4 to $5 a foot over DOM. I will build you a set for $150 + shipping. Thanks Neil.

they arent used for steps, i ahve running boards already if i wanted steps id keep them.
