So I never have posted about my independent heater system. This is a historical modification that I have done some years ago.
The system is from Eberspächer and is called Hydronic B5WS. It simply heats up the motor water system and blows warm air inside through the heater core. It is installed to the water circuit and gets his power from my second battery system and from the main tank using the fuel for heating. So this is one of my personal favorite modifications. It helps me in the winter to get my front window free from ice. When on camping I mainly sleep in my car and with the heater it is really a nice thing to sleep warm when it is cold outside. It warms the motor before starting the car and it helps me to reduce my fuel consumption as I can switch to the autogas mode earlier and driving only with the propane/butan system.
Here is a schematic picture:
This is a overall view from under the car looking above, you can see the frame of the TB from the passenger side. I have chosen that location because the tubes are near the heater core to which they are connected.
You can program the times for heating and even cooling (ventilation) by various days and times with a small remote:
I have installed a additional thermostat for heating the inside first and after opening from the thermostat at 60 degrees it heats up the water circuit from the motor. Inside is a additional electric circuit installed that is connected to the blower motor and the actuators for choosing the correct adjustment when removing the ice from the front window. So that the air blows directly to the window if needed.
You can see the thermostat that is connected to the heater core and the water cicuit here:

Are there any similar systems in the states?
