Notebook Holder remounted on dashboard

Finding a different location for the Notebook was in my mind for a couple of months. The location on the passenger side seat was not optimal it has reduced the passengers leg room in the past. So i came from this:


to this:


First remove the panel from the dash an drilled hole in the plastic part near the passenger side speaker. After that mounted the "knob" on the dash.




Testing the installation:


From now there 2 possible positions, one for the navigator on the passenger seat





and one for the driver (when driving without the "navigator" :

In progress and not already done as i don´t wan´t to pull the trigger by myself. But here´s a company that is building offroad rally cars called "Daktec", they have the knowledge.They get my car for installing the body lift... and then they install some kind of bypass system for switching on and off.

Looks like a similar laptop mount to what Brandon has. He had his mounted to the floor too. Your upgrade looks like it's probably a lot more stable.

The switch box is mainly for the "air components" in the TB. I´ll go with a arb airlocker in the rear axle when the ext axle is installed. That´s the first switch.



The second switch is for switching the on board air on, the gauge shows the pressure in the tank.



Both compressors fill the tank up to 8 bar, the pressure switch shut the compressors off when the 8 bar are reached.



The third switch can increase or decrease the pressure in the airlift1000 bags in the rear coils.
The last switch is for functions in the future..

Have test driven that setup today and there are minimal vibrations, much better than it was. Only thing which takes getting used is when looking in the passenger side mirror there is "more information" for the eyes. Don´t know how to tell it but have to be more concentrated when looking in the passenger mirror.

There are some plans on doing trips.

Nice setup! But did you say the area you bolted it to in the dash is just plastic? Dont know that I would trust that to not wear out and break might be fine on the road but bouncing around offroad not so much

Only drilled a hole in the dash ! It i screwed with a 10mm metric bolt and has a washer on top and the back. I don't think there will be a problem but time will tell..
