Like many on this forum I have been trying to figure out a way to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood inside my TB. I came up with this simple frame made of three 2x4s to raise the sheets up above the curves at the bottom edges of our rear hatch area and clear the wheel wells. I notched them as shown in the pictures so they can be taken apart and are easy to store and carry. I don't have a full 4x8 sheet laying around for a nice picture, but I think the pics below will suffice.
Frame in rear hatch area.
Frame fits nicely between rear floor compartment lid and tie downs in floor (so you can strap in the sheets).
Make 2 of these, dimensions in pics.
Make 1 of these.
This is a scrap piece that is 45.5" wide to show that 48" should fit.
Clears the wheel wells also.
My thumb shows where 8' (from underside of backseat folded up) sticks out.
Gotta be better than hauling them on the roof or borrowing someones truck!
