Back to my bush guard....

I made the original upper support bracket work by cutting out a small section of the black mesh in the grill and went thru that hole to mount the bracket to the bumper.

On the 'other' front ends (non 06+ LT) the bracket should go under the grill but I adapted it to fit my bumper/grill... I'll get pics later when I can get a decently lit pic.

So in other words I made it so it is as solid as can be...no more jiggling!

You hit anything high on that brush guard and you are gonna need a new radiator. Doesnt seem very safe to have 2 pieces of steel pointed right at the radiator.

Thats how mine wanted me to add support and I wouldnt do it. They want the little 10 mm bolts that hols the grill down to act as support. Just di not seem safe. Wher are those bolted?

Probably the same location... thats how WAAG mounts, I suppose it could be a problem if I do hit something tho, but I think if its hard enough to damage the radiator with the guard it would most likely get damaged without it. Idk I'm not worried about it at all.

I pushed a couple disabled vehicles off the road with my old one. The trick is not to shock load... gentle loads are fine. Most of your push force will go through the lower brackets, but my top screws were bent when I took them out.

Brush guards should not be thought of as damage-proofing your vehicle. They can push stuff, they act as a great place to mount lights, and they can protect against some decently heavy brush... they have their merits!

Yeah, they are really good, just not that many of us encounter stuff that really needs a full guard.

Dang, I guess I was just not really looking at the guard, just wanted to install it. But it is in fact a 3 piece... so the headlight guards are removable. It was getting a lil annoying with all the road salt to keep the headlights clean, so I took another look at it and saw the bolts.

So now I just have the center guard w/o the headlight guards. No pics now cuz its too dark out and not like anybody hasn't seen the center guard itself anyway. But I'll post some tomorrow.

It was just 1 personal listing...not a eBay store or anything. I was just looking for a long time on both eBay and Craigslist, and just happened to get lucky.

Light output seems decent, will have to get some night pics once I get some new batteries for the camera.

Driving lights... really would like a set of the Hella rallye 4000 cornering beams, but didn't want to spend that kind of cash right now. These will be fine for me at the moment.

Did jump on that eBay deal/scam, got my money back so went to Pep Boys and picked up a set. Makes the front end look better IMO and adds some more lighting especially since I converted the fogs to the strobes, not that they did much at all...
