Mike, you'll have to start building rear bumpers to expand the "bidness"!

The front bumper market on the forum is starting to saturate (as soon as I can get in front of it), and when it does, rear bumpers, fuel tank skids, etc...

Yeah, I'd have to get another employee to start doing this other stuff, now... Problem is, I end up making "not much" myself, let alone paying somebody... Kyle helps me a lot, and my dad will also help when needed (He wants to learn how to weld and stuff), but I am, and plan on being, a "1-man operation"... Business-owning friends keep trying to tell me how I need to get government business loans and expand the business and get more customers via advertizements, and stuff... I have to keep telling them that I want to keep this a "side-gig" and keep my real job, and the more space I rent and the more fixed costs I get, the less likely that becomes...

Finally! I did a real build thread, should be easier to go through 2 pages instead of 16!

If Anton did the same as I did, he is probably stretched around 5-6" front and rear. See my build thread for side pics.

From the pics the rear looks like it may have been less.. hard to tell

Actually it probably looks that way because he put the rear bumper cover back on

I have nearly three years in as a one man gig. I just bring in an extra set of semiskilled hands(temporarily) when things get too busy. Keeping it small keeps it simple.

I was looking at your build and I noticed the higher angle of the steering shaft on yours than mine. This actually works better for you. The u-joint where it goes out the firewall just binds on mine with only a 1" body lift.

Looks bad ass! What are you going to do about fender flares. MD is pretty strict about tires sticking out from the fenders arnt they?

yes i see that now that you point it out. i was thinking of pulling the 3 in body lift when i first started the sas but it opened up the work area alot and the pros outweighed the cons.

thank you. it looks like md is more strict on commercial trucks for flares and mud flaps. but i am finding different rules while researching this. i may be able to get rated as a multi use vehicle and this would be in my favor for bumper and frame height.

It's not like MD is going to check anything unless you sell the vehicle.

I may have misinterpreted what James meant about there not being a problem until the sale of the TB, but aren't you more concerned about being pulled over and ticketed?

As for fender flares or mud flaps, I'd think something on this truck would need to be called curtains instead. :thumright: ;)

Maryland doesn't do inspections unless the vehicle is being re-titled.

I doubt a cop would pull you over here - unless it was a transit police. They generally have bigger fish to fry.

The Pacific Northwest must have its own shall of large fish, but here the police in the small towns seem to make a harvest out of small fry and minnows. Steve I'm sure you might understand, and have had your fare amount of conversations with small time fish finders.

No checks with title changes here, that would cut down on local and county incomes from the constituents.
