Wanting to buy a disconnect for a 02. The original part number is ATP 11101 but I will also take a ATP 11102.

Yeah I'm might end up getting it, I just wanted to see what could I find on here. Is the ATP 11102 upgrade worth it?

Do you need an entire disconnect?
Could just rebuild yours with a AWD sleeve for about half the price

Well I work 6days a week. I was planning on replace the old one with a new one and rebuilding the old one as a spare.

Makes sense, I rebuilt mine when I was working 6/12's and it certainly was not fun.

IIRC, the only problem with the AWD disconnect is not having a location for the 4wd shift motor, it can just be zip tied out of the way. But it has to be left plugged in to prevent issues

So upgrading to the ATP 11102, when installed and driving around town do I leave it in 2hi or A4WD? And for the hanging motor I was gonna wrap it somehow and zip tie it to the frame somehow.

So I should just stay in 2hi and not go to A4WD with the 11102 installed?

The consensus on here is about the only scenario you want to attempt to use the A4WD is if you're on a icy side road pulling into a clear road, you'll want to move to 2hi right after you get in the clear road though.
When A4WD engages it's slamming a geared sleeve over two other gears rotating in opposite directions, as you can imagine, that's hard on the parts.

Gotcha, I know about that. I only asked cause the 11102 is mainly for AWD while the TB is mainly in 2hi and didn't want to cause any usual wear on the new disconnect.

Actually in auto4, the disconnect is already engaged and the clutch in the transfer case is what engages. Yes it is still hard on parts such as the disconnect, but the disconnect is only disconnected in 2hi and is never used as an on/off in auto4 mode.

Gotcha. I think I'll just order 11101 and rebuild the old one which was the original plan. Thanks for the input everyone.
