They are lights, and I haven't damaged them yet. I do plan on doing something different with regards to the rear lighting. But they've survived so far.
Bob, I'm planning on doing something else... something along the lines of what Teebes did... I would cut up this carrier and use it, but the angle on the mounting pad would put the tire on the rear window. So I figure I would sell this to someone needing a carrier and I would get the material to make the new one.
