I'd be happy if Bill ever got back to me on what size shaft they use.

That's an easy one.. 7/8 Diameter, with 5/8x18 thread for the lower mount.... Or are you looking for length?

Diameter was what I was after. If (when) I go coilover I'll need longer than what Bill has anyway. Any news on fixing the weak point? I'm not sure if it would be better to keep the stock yoke or modify the LCA and bring the coilover all the way down. Maybe add another tab and use the swaybar mount in double shear?

Mine are a bunch longer than Bill's, I have to compress them about 2" to get the balljoint back together. I haven't had any issues with mine, but they are a 7/8's shaft, with a 7/8's thread. The Icons neck down to a 5/8's thread, which I think we came up with a good solution for that week point, but it hasn't been acted upon yet

I like the idea of moving the lower mount, which would get us away from that weird bushing anyways. If you look at the newer tacoma coilovers http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/05updonahoetacoma.htm They have an extended lower mount to get around the CV shaft, I imagine we could do just the same if we had a good point to mount it.

Wow, that was a long time ago..... Too bad neither of these companies could step up a bit on it... If I was down in the mix with them, I'm sure we could have got something going.

I have Sway-A-Ways from a Tacoma which I just built that lower piece and drilled my upper shock mount to match the three bolts up top. But they are really long for most peoples application, I can bottom the shock before my bumpstop strikes. Though now days, there's allot more rigs like yours then there was 3-4 years ago. These Taco shocks may be a quick fit for the big lifters.. If your ever down here for an extended weekend, you may have to try them on.

I built Bill's off the newer Tahoe Coilovers which were allot closer to stock design, basically made it to where Icon only needs to build a new top plate to match our pattern, and the lower piece.

I've been looking at F-O-A stuff since they basically build to order.

Almost every coilover company will build custom or one off stuff, you just have to know exactly what you want, so they are not liable for application.
