Z71 springs

Hi all,
Im new to the forum and pretty much the offroad world. Im driving around a torch red 02 trailblazer ls with a newly installed BDS lift. Ive done a lot of research on this site and lots of good info! Im looking to add marks 1/2" spacers on the front and z71 springs in the rear.

My real question is where can I buy z71 springs besides the guy on ebay charging like $150 for them lol I saw summit racing selling moog spring but I have no idea if theyre going to add the extra lift or anything.

My sale is pending. You are only the second person that really wanted them. @65$ shipped they are the cheapest ones I have found recently. I can't see asking $100 plus for a pair....

I got a spare set a few years ago for $35 shipped. Just put them in recently as my first set of Z71's sagged. The source of many of the takeoffs was a San Diego area modification company who lifted a BUNCH of Border Patrol Tahoes. I predicted at the time these would only go up in price. Except that I was out of work at the time, I should have bought them all and cornered the market on springs, or done the right thing and doled them out for only a $10 profit a pair. But alas, I failed you guys.

For some people Z71's work and for others the Skyjackers work, just like some like BDS while others don't. It's all personal preference

I gave no dis-information. There are other reported sagging or failed z71s.

I can agree that this may not be the proper venue, but what I said is true.

With my expedition cargo overload, I eventually sag EVERY spring I put in there. My OEM springs with Airlift1000 bags pinched a hole in one bag on my first trip up the Lippincott Mine Trail in Death Valley long ago. I was on the bump stops way too much. Had to wait for a day in Bishop, CA for Fedex to deliver new bags. I blame my overloading and lumpy trails. Not in any way a criticism of Z71 springs.

IME, you have to match the higher spring rate of either Skyjacker Tahoe springs or the Z71s, with a proper shock, to get optimum damping performance. Z71 springs with Bilstein HD shocks is not a good combo. And adding Airlift1000 bags inside ANY shock changes the effective spring rate.

I even sag front springs every couple of years until I scored a set of 89's, or when I was running the Icon coilovers before they broke.

2 members mention it in there and Roadie said he had a set sag back then as well. EDIT: I guess he just got around to replacing the ones mentioned here.

Forgot about the only thread to ever address this issue (that you could find). We must all agree with theroadie in his assessment though, that Z51s are a very good option for most, including price and that many of us have purchased these and have been running them for years without issue. If they sag from weight issues or abuse from off-roading, then what the hell, replace them with new or something else.
