There's no need to change the springs, it's just that a lot of guys end up changing em out when they add bumpers skids etc
There quite a few fellas that do the lift and leave the stock springs in.

I have 3" lift with the stock springs for about a month, I just order my z71 springs and skyjacker shocks

I looked up my stock springs (83's) did some more research, math, reading and I'm ordering the following setup:

Front:
Bilstein HD 24-103336 F4-BE5-A333-H0
Moog 14's

Rear:
33-186542 F4-BE5-A463-H7 Bilstein 5100
Z71

Flip the UCAs

If I'm right, this should put the truck roughly level, and allow me to possibly fit a bigger tire without spacer. If I need to add a wheel spacer later I can.

just dont forget that new springs will settle a little. They might only settle .25", but they'll still settle.

the lift isn't the only issue with larger tires and the need of spacers. The upper ball joint is the main problem.
You can only run up to about 30.5 before needing wheel spacers.
