Z71 Spring Install Question

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Is there a right and wrong direction to install the Z71 spring? I searched and some are installed with the blue bumper on top and others on the bottom.

All the springs I've seen have a sticker that says "frame". That side goes towards the frame.
Or you can put the blue side up if its missing the sticker.

I never understood any technical reason for claimed directionality of springs. JD?

One side of the spring has thicker coils that goes on the axle and the blue side goes on the frame as v7guy said

Assuming the spring perches are identical and the coil end treatment is the same.

I ran my Z71's both ways for shits and gigs. Never had a problem either way.

Thanks guys! I installed them incorrectly and wanted to make sure i was alright driving around until i can get under there and flip them.

I walked out to the car this morning to admire the lift and noticed the frame sticker (after v7guy pointed this out). :wallbash:

I don't know with certainty that it will cause problems, but Moots springs collapsed while installed upside down in well under a year. He doesn't haul much at all. Mine are installed correctly and I load gobs of weight/stuff in the truck and haven't had a problem and they have been in for a year. Maybe Moots got lucky and got a bum pair. Maybe not.

Thanks for the heads up. I was able to flip them today.
