03 TB 4x4 Want to lift/level

Hi all, I want to lift/level my 03 TB LS 4x4. I don't want to have to change shocks/springs but rather just do coil spacers.

I don't plan to keep the vehicle for a long time but this is big on my list of making the truck look A LOT better. What is the max lift I can do front + rear without having to change anything else as far as suspension goes. Everywhere I read recommends replacing springs/shocks but I don't know if this is necessary. Can I do the MarkMc 3" by just adding spacers?

The truck doesn't see TOO much offroad except for some logging roads in the winter. I need to make sure 4x4 will still work no problem on the highways in the winter time and my front end parts won't disintegrate over the next 6-8 months.

To add spacers inside the struts, you have to be able to disassemble the unit. Is it cost that makes you not want to change the shocks at the same time while you're in there?

Exactly how many inches of front lift do you need to make it level? Every vehicle is slightly different. It would be unusual for you to need all 3" in the front and nothing in the back.

Just trying to calibrate the mission you see for your truck.

Why wouldn't you be able to use the spacer without changing springs out?

You can just add the spacer, but over time your springs sag so most of us just replace the spring while we have everything apart, same with the shocks it's not needed but you have it all apart and they either need replacing or will so why not while everything is out? Now as far as the rear goes you can and probably will cause shock damage if you lift it and don't add longer travel shocks. From what it sounds like he use's the TB for he might be able to get away with stock length shocks for a bit but I hear it's a really bad idea. When I lifted my TB and searched for reccomendations I listened to the senior members who all said replace the rears with something longer and so I did. I have read afew posts from some members who lifted the rear and kept the stock shocks and reported bad results, either noises comming from the rear shocks or failures.

It was more of a functionality type question... of course you could do it. But the way he discussed it it seemed like it wouldnt be an option

Maybe this guy needs to be on gmtnation.

The 3" spacer can be installed. Replacing shocks just helps the rode of the vehicle. At this point they almost all need replaced because they are worn. Spend a few more bucks.

Adding a lift will increase wear on all parts of the suspension. How much is dependant on how you drive, the trucks history, and how old the various components are.

A 3" lift will make the truck higher, but the wheels/tires will look very small.
