Help with lift instal!

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Ok so I took the front struts off and got the new 89 springs with spacers good to go but I didn't install them back in yet as I noticed on the passenger side the cv axle boot has flung grease everywhere. Question is, does this mean I need to buy a new cv axle? If so what brand should I get or am I able to regrease what I have as it just appears the seal broke as the boot is intact!

Also I should add, I took some pics and sent them to MarkMC and the boot is fine it's just leaking from it's seal and he said I could just buy a hose clamp and that should solve the problem! I'm thinking this sounds like my best option!

What do I or rather what should I grease it with? Not sure which kinda grease and would I just hand lob a glob in there and seal it up?

I cant remember the name of it. Just go to your local auto parts store and they will give you the right stuff. Usually comes in alittle tube. You use all of what comes in the tube. Hope that helps.

Dont use wheel bearing grease. Use the proper CV boot grease. Thats what I was told anyways...

Just called the autozone here, forgot what it was called but they said they have some. I'm guessing I should be fine to go drive there tomorrow? It's less than a mile away.

You'll be fine driving there, make sure the tube says it can be used in CV joints. It's important. I ended up cleaning the grease and water out of mine and then filled it with about 2/3 a tube of grease.

Make sure you tighten that clamp TIGHT or the boot will slip off.

yea, you'll be fine for a mile. Through research over the past 20 minutes, i've discovered the following. Moly based Extreme Pressure is ideal. However, the minimum requirement being Extreme Pressure (EP) whether it be moly based or lithium based
