Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Finally breaking down and doing a body lift.

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

You are correct, those are for the 3" body lift.

Exactly! Then when you move up to the three inch blocks down the road you wont have to buy any new hardware!

Getting ready to get to work! Bumpers be gone. Going to run bumperless for a while. Once I get Roadies rear brackets, I can throw the rear cover back on. Undecided as to whether or not to hack up the front impact bar for the sake of a bumper cover. I might leave it so I can have tow hooks until I can get one of Mikes bumpers.

Bam! It's in. I worked out my steering extension issue with some steel epoxy. I did decide to relocate the front bumper. All I need now are the rear brackets and I'm good to go. Here are a couple of half decent images.

You used epoxy on your steering extension? Do you feel good about that? Possible loss of steering is a serious issue not to be taken lightly. I just don't want you putting yourself in any unnecessary danger.

I feel fine with it as a solution until Mark can get one to me. The extension itself is hardened steel. It was a bitch to cut and grind out by hand. It fits mostly tight, but the the shaft is slightly tapered on the inside which gave me just a little bit of movement. Overall it was maybe 1/2" of steering wheel play. Putting the epoxy on the base and sandwiching it all together fixed that. It was just to fix the annoyance, not a safety risk. It's rated at 500 degrees and 5000psi.

Are you still running with the epoxy fix or did you change to one of Marks? I'm having the same 1/2" play issue and I'm trying to pin point the issue, granted with no body lift yet only RC suspension.

I new that. :wallbash: F^#@!

So does his steering play continue? Kinda hard to ask him if he's no longer around. I may need to start a thread questioning steering wheel play. :coffee:

I've been working my ass off lately, so I haven't had much forum time. Yes it is true that I am no longer running the lifts :( . I ended up purchasing one of Marks extensions. I took care of all of the steering play. If you are having some issues without even having a body lift installed, I would bet that your tie rod ends may be getting to the end of their lives.
